Tarot T-2D Gimbal Tip : Got the Shakes? Here’s a Solution

Tarot T-2D Gimbal Tip : Got the Shakes? Here’s a Solution

Thanks for watching this video. I stayed up til 2AM one night trying to figure out why my Tarot T-2D GoPro gimbal was acting all crazy. I tried updating the motor and sensor firmware. I set the motor pole count. I tried random configuration changes. Then it dawned on me…why don’t you try and swap the motors and see what happens. It can’t be any worse. Low and behold…PROBLEM SOLVED! Hope this helps someone else…

CPO 135 Tricopter : The G10 Shorty!

This is the “G10 Shorty”. I cut 150mm off each boom, removed the camera/battery tray, and made this a bit of a race car version of the larger FPV/AV original. I realize some of you aren’t looking for a video platform. This should show you that the CPO 135 Tricopter is a capable acrobat as well. (Just don’t rely on my skills to prove it! LOL!)

So I go through the entire re-build in this one…

CPO 135° Tricopter G-10 Body Panels!

Looky! Looky!  Look what came  in the mail today!

One of the great guys that’s been active on my thread on RC Groups (CPO’s Officially Unofficial Tricopter Build :: Step by Step Scratch Build How-To) has gone and laser-cut some G-10 body panels using my tricopter design. Jack (or jackerbes on the forum) and his son have been playing with the laser cutter…and I think they have just about got things worked out.

I will re-build my…

Basic FrSky Taranis Telemetry : A1 and A2 Voltage and Telemetry Screens

Basic FrSky Taranis Telemetry : A1 and A2 Voltage and Telemetry Screens

In this video, I go over the basics of setting up analog voltage telemetry on the Taranis using OpenTX. I am using a FrSky D8R-II Plus receiver and a FrSky FBVS-01 voltage sensor. I go through the basic setup to use the A1 port for reading internal receiver voltage and using the A2 port for reading my flight battery voltage.

I show how to set the telemetry ranges for A1/A2, how the voltage dividing ratio is…

This is my first image from the new tricopter. This is a frame from the video, and has been edited a bit.

CPO Snowy FPV Sunrise [video]

This was a fun little FPV run just to really start getting my tricopter going. It was my first FPV flight, which was half line-of-sight- and half fpv. FPV video was mostly used to see where the camera on the tricopter was pointing, and to get back home when it got so far out I couldn’t see it anymore.

I did some stabilization in Final Cut Pro X, but I’m not overly impressed with the output….

“Snowy Maryland Sunrise”

Well, folks, the snow and rain finally stopped and I was able to get out for some sunrise video with the tricopter. It will be a while before I can edit the video,…

More on Tricopter Center of Gravity, and a Test Flight

More on Tricopter Center of Gravity, and a Test Flight

Okay….test flight #2 with the camera. However, this video is less about the camera, and more about center of gravity. FWIW, the camera footage is rock solid!

So, back to center of gravity. I talk a little bit about center of gravity because I am getting questions from people who seem to be confused by the symmetrical tricopter design theory video I posted back in December.  I quickly show how to find the center of gravity…
