Hey Chris. I didn’t make a 135* tricopter based on your build but I wanted to share my anti vibe camera / battery tray design since it’s similar to yours. What I find interesting is even though I didn’t follow your design we have a lot of similarities in our designs. I researched a lot of different designs and then customized what I liked to fit my needs. Instead of drilling holes in my battery tray and weaving the zip ties thru, I passed the large zip ties under the tray and secured the tray to the large zip ties using smaller zip ties. Makes a nice flat surface for battery mounting and still provides excellent vibration isolation. Just another way of doing the same thing. I guess it proves great minds think a like.
Well, Dave…great minds must think alike, because this is exactly where I was going next. I just haven’t had time. I was wanting to do some vibration testing between the original design and the “flat” design to see if there was any real difference. I was wondering how much the zip tie tension plays into the vibration dampening. Although if you are getting good results, I may skip the testing and just put it together! I have literally been wanting to to this for about a month, but haven’t had the time. The only thing I don’t like about the original design was the lack of a truly flat spot for the battery (easily resolved..but not as elegant). Thanks for sharing! – cpo
